Kiran is considered the "godmother of Indian fine dining" and, as a self-taught chef, has been winning awards and wowing crowds for nearly two decades at her eponymous restaurant in Houston, Kiran's.

Her daughter, Puja, serves as the Director of Operations & Development at Kiran's, working alongside her mother to introduce the food of their culture to the people of Houston (and beyond).
