Deborah has served Houston families for over 35 years as a private wealth manager, having owned and operated two successful Registered Investment Advisory (RIA) firms. They had each amassed roughly 1 billion dollars in AUM.
As an accomplished entrepreneur with a rich legacy in the wealth management industry, Deborah Stavis considers her latest venture, Stavis Wealth, her most exciting yet. Drawing on decades of experience, Deborah is joined by her daughter, Chelsea Stavis, to bring clients a unique, family-centric approach that mirrors how they have managed their own family office for years. Together, along with a team of specialists, they are setting a new standard in Private Wealth Management.
Her true purpose in holistic, financial and estate planning is to make a lasting difference in the lives of client families and community, by helping families develop and strengthen their estate and strategic philanthropic plans.
An inherent instructor, Deborah has taught at the RICE University, Susanne M. Glasscock School of Continuing Studies since 1984. She has created original content and presented at numerous conferences for Shell Oil Company, SHELL Women Adding Value Everywhere (WAVE), The SHELL Alumni Association and The Women’s Energy Network.
She is actively involved in the Houston community as a founding member of the Barbara Bush Ladies for Literacy Guild and the Barbara Bush Foundation Celebration of Reading Committee since its inception in 1994.
Deborah was a Houston Business Journal honoree of the Women Who Mean Business Award. She has been featured in numerous publications including the Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Bloomberg, Houston Chronicle, Oil and Gas Investor and Investment News. Deborah was officially inducted into the Texas Women’s Hall of Fame in March 2024 and will be one of five select honorees at The Women's Resource event, Outstanding Women in Finance and Banking, taking place in May 2025.
